Royal Air Force Radar museum

0 reviews

Forty airmen and airwomen were billeted at a local village and training began in this radical early warning system.

After the war the station was established as a Sector Operations Centre and continued to be used until 1993.

In October 1994 the original operations building which housed the old equipment was converted into the Air Defence Radar Museum.

The museum traces the history and development of Air Defence Radar since its invention in 1935.

Experience three themed presentations that will demonstrate the operational use and development of radar as a vital tool in the aerial defence of our shores since 1940.
